Academic biography

Dr Vishwas Dohale is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at DCU Business School. His journey in academia is complemented by a wealth of professional experiences that underscore his expertise in the field. Prior to his association with DCU Business School, Dr Vishwas worked with Goldratt Consulting in India, an organisation led by the pioneers of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) philosophy. During his association with Goldratt Consulting, Dr Vishwas was enriched with vast experience in consulting a spectrum of industries ranging from manufacturing and services to supply chain logistics and the food sector. Before joining as a Consultant at Goldratt, he worked as a Research Associate for the project, jointly collaborating by the University of Exeter, UK and the Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur.

He holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai, India, formerly known as the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), India. In addition, he earned a Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Mechanical stream with a specialisation in CAD/CAM and Robotics from the University of Mumbai. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

His teaching and research interest majorly focuses on operation strategy, production and operation management, strategic supply chain management, supply chain resilience, MCDM, quantitative modelling, etc. Dr Vishwas, along with his collaborators, has pioneered the development of the Neutrosophic Interpretive Structural Modelling (N-ISM) method, an innovative extension of the conventional Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) technique.

Dr Vishwas’s contributions extend to the realm of research. His scholarly work has found a home in esteemed outlets, including the International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Production Planning and Control, Computers and Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, and Annals of Operations Research.

Dr Vishwas is actively seeking potential PhD candidates to pursue their research in Supply Chain Management and resilience, Supply Chain Finance, Production and Operations Management, Operations Strategy, Manufacturing Strategy, Sustainable Operations, Carbon Neutral Supply Chains, Digital strategy for sustainability, and circular supply chains at Dublin City University.
