Academic biography

Dr. Lorraine Delaney is Assistant Professor with the School of Human Development in DCU.

I am an Assistant Professor of Socioogy at the School of Human Development where I teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate students. I act as a dissertation supervisor and marker on the Professional Masters in Education Primary (PMEP) and the Bachelor of Education (BEd). I also co-ordinate the Sociology modules delivered online DCU's distance students.  I completed my PhD and MSc (Education) at DCU and hold a BA in Economics and Politics from University College Dublin. My research interests are interdisciplinary and include social stratification, higher education access, teacher education, technology in teaching and learning, adult education, higher education retention and completion, graduate employability and education policy.
