On 26 May 2025, Dr. Christy Ann Petit participated in a seminar hosted by Norges Bank, the Central Bank of Norway, focused on the role of central banks in the regulation of stablecoins. The seminar convened leading scholars and policymakers from the global central banking community to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by stablecoins and digitalization more generally. On 26 May 2025, Dr. Christy Ann Petit participated in a seminar hosted by Norges Bank, the Central Bank of Norway, focused on the role of central banks in the regulation of stablecoins. The seminar convened leading scholars and policymakers from the global central banking community to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by stablecoins and digitalization more generally.

Dr. Petit presented on the evolving mandate of central banks vis-à-vis digitalization, drawing from her research on the mandate of the European Central Bank (ECB), analyzed in comparison with the mandates of the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, and the Bank of Canada. Her presentation also incorporated insights from her recent work on Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and the Treaty Mandate of the ECB.
