The Centre for Research in Children’s and Young Adult Literature, School of English — in conjunction with the School of English Research Seminar Series and the MA in Children’s and Young Adult Literature Programme — cordially invites you to two lectures/discussions by Professor Peter Hunt (Professor Emeritus in English and Children’s Literature, Cardiff University, UK).

For the past 40 years or so, Prof Hunt has watched, and abetted, as children’s literature studies in higher education have grown from being the preserve of a small number of eccentrics (largely librarians and historians), to a highly successful, highly respectable, international, multicultural, and interdisciplinary academic discipline. But, as anyone involved in the subject will know only too well, even after all this success, plenty of challenges remain — and in these two sessions Peter looks at what they are and what we might do about them.
