DCU is delighted to announce that our Global Recruitment Office is launching it's first ever video competition this September. International students are invited to create short videos, capturing their first few weeks at DCU. From arriving in Dublin and joining campus events, to exploring the city and settling into Irish life. We can’t wait to see your journey!

Video Guidelines

Short, self-recorded clips (max video length - 30 seconds).
Vertical/portrait format (perfect for Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts).
High-resolution .mp4 files.
Avoid watermarks and use captions/graphics carefully.
Pro tip: Be creative, have fun, and make it your story!

Competition Terms and Conditions

Video content: Your video should capture your experience arriving in Ireland, participating in DCU events, orientation, exploring Dublin, or settling into your new surroundings.
Who can enter: The competition is open to all registered international students (undergraduate, study abroad, exchange, erasmus, postgraduate, and PhD) starting in September 2025.
Video guideline: Must be self-recorded and must not be offensive or show illegal activities.
Format requirements: High-resolution .mp4, vertical/portrait format (perfect for Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts), Examples: Example 1, Example 2
Duration: Videos must be no longer than 30 seconds.
Submission limits: One video entry per person.
Consent: If your video includes other people, you must have their permission to appear on your video.
Important notes: Videos not meeting the criteria above will not be accepted. Videos containing music may be edited due to copyright and avoid watermarks and use captions/graphics carefully.
Judging & Prizes: All videos will be reviewed by a judging panel and winners will be announced in October 2025. The top 5 winners will receive a DCU hoodie.
Competition Timeframe

Start date: Monday, 25th August 2025.
End date: Tuesday, 30th September 2025 at 11pm (Irish Standard Time).
The winner will be announced in October 2025.
