Biographical Details

Rosie gained an MA in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh (1987-1991), before completing a PGCE at the Institute of Education, University of London.  She went on to complete a M.Sc. in Medical Sociology (University of London), an M.Ed. in Inclusive and Special Education (University of Birmingham) and a PG Cert. in Asperger Syndrome.  She worked for over 13 years in both secondary and primary schools as a teacher, Head of Department (GCSE and A Level Sociology), Director of Key Phase, teaching in mainstream classrooms, specialist provisions (for learners with ASD and SEBD) and in a special residential school for learners with SEBD.  In 2012, Rosie took up an Assistant Lectureship in Inclusive and Special Education at DCU and was Chair of the Professional Diploma in Special and Inclusive Education from 2015 to 2018.  She is currently studying for her doctorate at Queen's University, Belfast.
