Accommodation
Larkfield apartments are located on the Glasnevin Campus. The apartment blocks contain 126 units, each with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom and a kitchenette between two rooms.
St Patrick's Campus accommodation is single room occupancy, with a single bed, study desk, internet access, bookshelves, wardrobe, and wash basin. Students share bathroom facilities with several students on their floor. Each house has a common room and kitchen facilities.
Applications for on campus accommodation for 2024/25 are currently closed for undergraduate students. For further information, please visit https://www.dcuaccommodation.ie/.
As the original application's closure date was in March, both a first and second round bedroom lotteries have been conducted by this time. This means all available bedrooms are currently reserved but as and when cancellations are received, further mini lotteries will be held.
There is the intention to hold at least one more lottery after the CAO offers are made and the Leaving Certificate results published as some students currently holding confirmed offers may wish to cancel their bookings.
The applications will reopen mid August for those 1st year students wishing to apply for on campus accommodation so to be included in the Lottery based on cancellations.

Alcohol and Drugs
DCU is committed to promoting healthier lifestyles in the DCU student community through the prevention and response to alcohol misuse and drug use and misuse. This includes minimising the harm caused by the use or misuse of substances, promoting rehabilitation and recovery, offering trauma-informed support and guidance to students who may require it, and providing education and information campaigns.
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Promote and protect the health, safety and well-being of the student community.
- Minimise the harms caused by the use and misuse of substances and promote harm reduction, rehabilitation, and recovery.
- Outline the trauma-informed supports available to students who are in crisis and those who seek assistance as a result of substance use/misuse.
- Enhance a culture that is free from the pressure to consume alcohol and other harmful substances while simultaneously encouraging help-seeking behaviour.
- Promote the importance of personal responsibility and social obligation,including to the university and the local community.
- Educate the student community on health risks and other risks associated with consumption and additionally, about the link between trauma and substance misuse.
- Inform the student community of the university’s statutory obligations and duty of care under various legal instruments.
This policy has been informed by the national HE framework, Framework for Response to the Use of Illicit Substances within Higher Education, 2019, as well as the Action Plan on Drug Use in Higher Education Institutions, 2019. The policy has also been informed by the HSE Strategy, Reducing Harm, and Supporting Recovery - A health-led response to drug and alcohol use in Ireland, 2017–2025.

All Glasnevin campus buildings are referenced by a letter, e.g. A, B, C, D, etc. Room numbers are referenced by using the building letter, floor level and then room number. For example, Room CG35 is in the Henry Grattan Building (C), Ground Floor (G), Room No. 35 (35).

St Patrick’s Campus
The St Patrick's campus buildings house a range of facilities including inter alia large, medium and small lecture theatres, teaching and seminar rooms, College chapel, student canteen and dining room, large auditorium, well stocked library, IT facilities, Education Resource Centre, modern gymnasium, art rooms, language lab, and student residences for c300 students.
The Campus is divided into blocks A-F plus PF. Room numbers are referenced by using the block letter, floor level and then room number.
All Hallows Campus
All Hallows Campus is divided into 12 different buildings numbered from 1-12. Room numbers are referenced by using the building number, floor level and then room number.

Main Restaurant
This is the largest dining facility on campus, offering a wide variety of affordable meal options for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. It caters to various dietary needs.
The NuBar in the Student Centre
The bar is located in the heart of The U building, the new student centre. NuBar houses fun and friendly staff and a lively events programme and provides employment for DCU students. At the NuBar, they like to have a good time and want you to join in! The NuBar offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks with a great, affordable food menu. There are two pool tables and a beer garden where they have BBQs when the weather is nice. There are also screens spread throughout the venue where you can watch the latest sporting fixtures in style. The NuBar is the perfect place to chill out from your studies, watch a match, catch up with your mates or throw a class party. There’s always a good vibe and you’ll soon be addicted to the world renowned “Nubar goujons”.

Business School Restaurant
Situated on the 2nd floor of the DCU Business School (DCUBS), this restaurant offers hot and cold meals and snacks.
Caffe Vergnano 1882 (Alice Reeves Building)
Located on the ground floor of the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, this cafe serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
Caffe Vergnano 1882 (DCU Sports Complex)
This cafe provides a selection of hot and cold drinks, including smoothies and juices, as well as snacks throughout the day.
The Helix Cafe Bar
Found inside The Helix, this cafe offers coffee, light snacks, and sandwiches in a relaxed atmosphere.
Londis Shop and Food Hall
This convenience store in the U Student Centre has a deli counter offering sandwiches, wraps, and other quick hot food options.
Coffee Cart @ the U
A go-to spot for your to-go drinks. Barista coffee and a range of other hot beverages and treats.
St Patrick’s Campus
The Canteen (Main Restaurant)
The Canteen is the main dining area where students and staff can avail of breakfast, snacks and lunch, including main meals and sandwiches. It aims to provide affordable meal options and many cuisine options for all dietary needs.
DCU Java Student Hub
This is a lively hangout space serving snacks and beverages. Relaxing couches, good music and a pool table make it a nice spot to meet up with friends or make new ones. The Students' Union often holds activities and events here.
Londis
A small outlet located in Block E offering hot drinks, snacks, and treats.
Caffe Vergnano 1882
This social space and café is located on the ground floor of The Cregan Library in G Block. It offers a bright and airy ambience with comfortable and relaxed seating areas, perfect for meeting up and enjoying a tea or coffee, or a bit of lunch.
All Hallows Campus
Main Restaurant
In the heart of All Hallows lies the main restaurant that can be used by all staff and students, offering fresh food on a daily basis. It is DCU's biggest restaurant and offers a range of food choices including full meals, healthy options, sandwiches, and treats.
Event Management
Any event planned to take place on any of the DCU campuses, must be notified to the helpdesk in the Estates Office at the earliest possible opportunity and not less than two weeks before the event. Events should not take place before approval is received from the Estates Office. Students also need to contact the 'Health & Safety Office' to notify them of an event happening on campus.

Inter-Faith Centre
DCU Chaplaincy is located within the University’s Student Support and Development (SS&D). The team includes four Chaplains and three support personnel, working across three Campuses and three key faith spaces; Inter Faith Centre (Glasnevin Campus), Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel (St Patrick’s Campus) and All Hallows Chapel (All Hallows Campus). In addition, there is also an Upper Room and Inter-Faith Room on St Patrick’s Campus and a Labyrinth and Memorial Garden on the Glasnevin Campus, which are connected with Chaplaincy. While each Chaplain is rooted in a religious tradition, the team serves those of religious perspective and those of none and also strongly encourages inter-faith dialogue and cooperation.
The Chaplains provide many services, including:
- Serving the University with a particular focus on the holistic wellbeing and flourishing of our students
- Being a supportive and caring presence when people are vulnerable
- Supporting and celebrating the dignity of every individual
- Welcoming and supporting the diversity of faith traditions and secular convictions
- Providing a hospitable space/presence for all who wish to avail of our service
- Nurturing the reflective and spiritual capacities of the DCU Community
- Engaging creatively in dialogue about issues to do with faith and the University

Lockers
Student lockers are located across our Glasnevin and St Patrick’s campuses.
Lockers are allocated at the start of Semester 1 through a 3rd party supplier on a first come/first serve basis. A percentage of lockers will be released for returning students in early September with the remainder being released once 1st Years have commenced. Please keep an eye on social media and emails ahead of the opening of the locker portal to purchase a locker. Lockers are valid for the Academic Year up until the 29th May 2025. Parking
Getting to campus
At DCU, we strongly encourage student commuters to consider active travel and public transport as commuting options when possible. We have a complete list of public transport options to get you to DCU here.
Parking at DCU
There are a limited number of paid and free parking facilities available on all campuses. We have full details of student parking options here.
If you do park on a street or road close to campus, please be mindful of our neighbours. All DCU campuses are located in residential areas, and we would ask all students to please park correctly, making sure not to block access or entrances and driveways.
Do not park illegally, on campus or off campus. Your vehicle may be clamped or towed if you do so.
