Project Summary

 Project Summary icon

The project will develop a cutting-edge system that consists of reliable low-cost optical sensors, robust data processing, and an intuitive and easy to access data delivery platform. This system will allow us to monitor marine and coastal water quality on a real-time basis and supply the results in a user-friendly manner. This valuable information will serve to enhance many aspects of coastal monitoring and management operations for commercial companies, regulatory agencies and government departments. The project aims to develop low-cost, easy to deploy water sensors for continuous measuring of chemical and physical parameters in coastal waters. The sensor network and data delivery service have the potential to greatly enhance knowledge on water quality trends, pollution events and enable users to obtain high spatial and temporal resolution data from their area of interest.
