AFU Global Network Members present a Symposium at the IFA 14th Global Conference on Ageing

Joint Symposium on AFU at the IFA Global Conference 2018

A Symposium presentation by Mc Master University, University of Manitoba and Dublin City University on the Age Friendly University Initiiative was delivered at the 14th Interntional Federation on Ageing Global Conference in Toronto. Over 1,200 delegates attended the conference where connections and friendships were made and strengthened. This year the focus of the conference was Towards a Decade of Healthy Ageing – From Evidence to Action and over 400 abstracts were accepted into the program, making this the largest IFA conference to date. DCU's Age Friendly Coordinator Christine O'Kelly presented on the concept and evolution of the AFU, whilst Dr. Laura Harrington (Mc Master) and Prof. Michelle Porter (UM) presented on how the Ten Principles of an Age Friendly Univeristy are interpreted in their institutions.
