A programme for primary PE teacher education in Europe National Multiplier Event Ireland

Susan Marron and Frances Murphy, School of Arts Education and Movement Physical Education, Institute of Education, Dublin City University, hosted an Erasmus Multiplier event on 8th June 2023. We were delighted to welcome teacher educators, PDST and NCCA representatives, the IPPEA committee, teachers who had completed the PE specialism in the past as well as the master’s at DCU.

SAEM 3 hosts

An overview of the Primary Physical Education Teacher Education (PRIME PETE) programme, an Erasmus + project (2020- 2023) was presented summarising the ten outputs:

  4. Theoretical and methodological framework 
  5. Modules and micromodules for Primary PE courses
  6. Development of an evaluation method
  7. Evaluation of modules and micromodules
  8. Handbook and guidance for the implementation of PRIME PETE programmes
  9. Open course platform
  10. Exploitation and sustainability plan
