Lucy Hill’s Monograph ‘Everyday Artfulness A Posthuman Perspective on Young Children’s Play with Materials’ is launched

A new publication by visual artist and academic Dr Lucy Hill was recently launched by Dr Jones Irwin: "Everyday Artfulness: A posthuman perspective on young children's play with materials." is a significant work which examines how art can offer fresh perspectives on young children's daily interactions with materials in early childhood education. The book encourages readers to look beyond conventional views, focusing on the "small moments" in children's play to reveal an "everyday artfulness" through the lens of posthuman theory. The book aims to provide an ethical alternative for future artist-educators and researchers, highlighting the rich, often overlooked, relationship between children's learning and the material and social complexities of the world.
