The CLARITY Centre for Sensor Web Technologies is a Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET), a joint partnership between University College Dublin, Dublin City University, and the Tyndall National Institute (TNI) Cork. This ground-breaking research centre focuses on the so-called ‘Sensor Web’, which captures the intersection between two important research areas – Adaptive Sensing and Information Discovery.

Opportunities for Senior & Postdoctoral / Contract Researchers

Position: Postdoctoral Fellowship at National Centre for Language Technology

An opportunity has arisen at short notice for a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Centre for Language Technology, School of Computing, Dublin City University.

The project will be conducted in collaboration with Symantec Ireland and will be focused on confidence estimation for Statistical Machine Translation (SMT). The aims of the project will be to explore the selection and extraction of features for estimating specific aspects of translation quality such as document comprehensibility, and to investigate whether system combination can benefit from these confidence scores by highlighting strengths and weaknesses in individual systems. The candidate will work with multiple MT systems and with a variety of datasets including noisy user-generated content.

Opportunities for Postdoc / PhD / Research Assistant

Positions: 1 x Postdoc, 1 x PhD, 1 Research Assistant at the Advanced Processing Technology Research Group Dublin City University.

There are currently three research positions available with the Advanced Processing Technology Research Group at Dublin City University.

These include a new two year postdoctoral position in the area of laser processing, a three year PhD position on laser modification of polymer surfaces for biomedical implants, and a one year research assistant position on a laser shot peening.
