Refund of Fees/Withdrawal Policy

 

Undergraduate Refund Policy

Students who withdraw before/up to 31st October are not liable to pay student Contribution and no tuition fees will be claimed from the HEA for that student by the University in the current academic year.

Students who withdraw before 31st January are liable to pay 50% Student Contribution Fee and 50% Tuition fee will be claimed from the HEA for that student by the University in the current academic year.  The student will be liable to pay 50% tuition fee and 100% contribution fee should they return to third level education. 

Students who withdraw after 31st January are liable to pay 100% Student Contribution fee and 100% Tuition fee will be claimed from the HEA.  Students will be liable to pay 100% Tuition Fee and 100% Student Contribution fee should they return to third level education.

Undergraduate students not entitled to free fees 

Students who withdraw before/up to 31st October no fee liability.

Students who withdraw before 31st January are liable to pay 60% of the fee due in the current academic year.

Students who withdraw after 31st January are liable to pay 100% of the fee due in the current academic year.

Postgraduate Refund Policy

Students who withdraw before 31st October are liable to a non-refundable deposit of €500 the fee due in the current academic year.

Students who withdraw before 31st January are liable to pay 60% of the fee due in the current academic year.

Students who withdraw after 31st January are liable to pay 100% of the fee due in the current academic year.

To officially withdraw a student must return their student card and withdraw via their student  Apps. page.

Failure to withdraw formally will hold the student liable to the full fee for the academic year.

Exceptions to PG Refunds:

An administration charge of €150 will apply to all Post Graduate students who cannot take their place due to the following conditions:

Visa Refusal.

Do not meet conditions of offer.

Non-EU students who are refused a visa must provide a copy of the refusal letter from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform as part of their application for a refund of tuition fees. Please forward all relevant documents to dcuglobalrecruitment@dcu.ie

(Refunds not issued in Euro are subject to the prevailing exchange rate at the time of processing).

It is the student’s responsibility to notify the Immigration Office of their change in personal circumstance.
