#ThinkLanguages Week at the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies

Transition Year students from seven different schools welcomed to Dublin City University campus this week to celebrate language learning.

Colleagues in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) were very excited to welcome Transition Year students from seven different schools to Dublin City University's Glasnevin campus this week to celebrate language learning. Through taster sessions in Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese and immersive workshops in Latin American Dance, French comics creation, German culture, Japanese writing and kung fu, these students gained an insight into what it is like studying Modern Foreign Languages in DCU. This event is generously supported by Languages Connect, and was part of #ThinkLanguages Week, a national celebration of languages and cultures.

Dr Maria Loftus, External Engagement convenor in SALIS, believes that DCU offers students a unique language learning experience:

We offer our students an enjoyable experience while learning Chinese, French, Gaeilge, German, Japanese or Spanish. Our broad range of modules, the latest teaching methodologies and a genuinely inspiring teaching team help students acquire excellent communication skills in the language(s) you choose.
