'Why Wouldn't You' short film and toolkit launched

The short film, titled 'Why Wouldn't You?', was launched at an event on DCU's Glasnevin Campus on Monday 19 May.

The 12-minute film, created by the DCU Irish Refugee Integration Network (IRIN) and Sanctuary, is a visually evocative portrait of solidarity. Through the stories of community members, activists, and educators, it explores how people are working together across difference to welcome and support forcibly displaced people.

'Why Wouldn't You?' gives voice to the lived experiences of forcibly displaced people in Ireland and honours the everyday acts of welcome and justice happening across communities. It’s a reminder that solidarity isn’t an abstract ideal—it’s a practice, a choice, a movement.

Alongside the film, the 'Why Wouldn't You?' Solidarity toolkit was also launched. The resource is free, and intended for educators, community organisers and activists, containging tools, stories and ideas for building more just, inclusive communities.

The toolkit is available to access here.
