The Election Aftermath: Insights and Analysis

#GE16 was a truly digital campaign that saw traditional parties compete with new parties and traditional media collide with social platforms.  Throughout the campaign, a range of data tools have tracked coverage and monitored engagement - so what are the takeaways?

  • What stories and parties made an impact?

  • Which media outlets and platforms sustained the most engagement?

  • How did the party and media strategies play out and compare?

  • And what does it all mean for future campaigns?

To find out, join the Online News Association Ireland and DCU Institute for Future Media & Journalism (FuJo) for The Election Aftermath: Insights and Analysis.

Our panelists include:

  • Mark Little, Vice-President of Media for Europe and Africa with Twitter;

  • Kevin Doyle, Group Political Editor of Independent News and Media (INM);

  • Dr Jane Suiter, Political Scientist and Journalism Specialist at DCU FuJo;

  • Mary Regan, Political Editor with UTV Ireland;

  • Dr Georgiana Ifrim, Lecturer in UCD’s School of Computer Science and a funded investigator with the Insight Centre for Data Analytics;

  • Liam Corcoran, Head of Communications with NewsWhip

The event takes place in DCU Glasnevin Campus: QG15 ground floor of the Business School. Doors open and networking starts at 6.30pm, the panel discussion starts at 7pm.
