You will benefit from the expertise of dedicated lecturers and innovative, engaging approaches to teaching. In DCU you will find academic staff who are accessible to you, in class and for one-to-one meetings. You will gain a strengthened ability to think critically, assess information and communicate your ideas along with the necessary practical and IT skills, making graduates of our degrees, excellent innovators, most attractive to employers or creative self-employment. This is evidenced by the fact that DCU consistently has higher employment rates among our graduates one year after graduation, than the figures for the sector as a whole published by the Higher Education Authority.
You will join an international and intercultural environment, reflected in our staff and our student body. Many of our courses have opportunities to study abroad or to take another language. All of our students will experience a diverse campus community and will be exposed in their programmes to global and inter-cultural perspectives on the biggest challenges facing contemporary society.
You will benefit from DCU's Generation 21 programme, aimed at strengthening your ability to succeed when you leave DCU.
"Business and higher education have a shared objective of developing adaptable, well-rounded, creative and ethically minded citizens who have an appetite for learning. This requires addressing how subjects are taught and not solely focusing on the course curriculum. DCU is proactively taking the steps required to strengthen the core skills, understandings and personal attributes that make graduates more likely to gain employment. This will not only enable them to be personally successful in their chosen occupation, it will also benefit the economy and the wider community." Tony Donohoe, Head of Education Policy, Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC)
