Government of Ireland Academic Staff Mobility Programme
Under the provisions of the national International Education Strategy (2016), the Irish Government is providing a special fund to support the mobility of teaching, technical, management and administrative staff. This fund is open to those eligible categories of staff to engage in eligible collaborative activities with partners in eligible destinations.
*Eligible categories for staff: Teaching, techinical, management & administrative
*Eligible collaborative activities include:
+ Preparation of joint teaching programmes,
+ Shared exploration on innovative approaches to inter alia a teaching pedagogy, student support activity, internationalisation of curricula, digital education & delivery
+ Development of new student mobility streams outward & inward
+ The exploration of new inter-institutional partnerships with individual countries
+ The advancement of a research concept to the application of funding stage
Eliigible destinations include those identified in the Government's International Education Strategy. This does not preclude applications for other high potential destinations.
Duration of mobility: Minimum duration is 5 days, maximum duration is 2 months
Eligible costs: Return economy air fare and a per diem maximum of €180 will be provided (if in line with national civil service staff travel rates)
Application process: Applications to be made directly to the HEA when the call is live
- HEI's should ensure that as a general principle, proposals align with the Government;s International Education Strategy
- When framing proposals, the application should demonstrate:
- Quality of mobility arrangements
- Quality of activity design and implementation
