Academic biography

Is ollamh cúnta san oideachas í Jacqueline i Scoil na Teanga, na Litearthachta agus an Oideachas Luath-Óige in Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath. Ba Chomhairleoir Oideachais í san Áisaonad i gColáiste Ollscoile Naomh Muire, Béal Feirste, áit a raibh sí páirteach i ndearadh áiseanna don Ghaeloideachas. Bhí ról aici forbairt ghairmiúil a thabhairt ar úsáid na n-áiseanna sin i gcomhthéacs an tumoideachais agus an churaclaim. Is iar-mhúinteoir Gaelscoile í Jacqueline agus taithí aici ar theagasc aoisghrúpaí éagsúla chomh maith le tréimhse caite ar fhreagrachtaí na litearthachta i scoil.

Tá suim ag Jacqueline i léitheoireacht na Gaeilge agus tá taighde déanta aici ar leabhair Ghaeilge do pháistí. Bhí sí ina stiúrthóir ar an chlár léitheoireachta Cleite do na luathbhlianta agus ina bainisteoir tionscadail ar dhearadh clár fónaice don Ghaeilge. Tá Jacqueline i mbun PhD faoi láthair ar léitheoireacht na Gaeilge faoi stiúir an Ollaimh Phádraig Uí Dhuibhir agus an Dr Eithne Kennedy.

Jacqueline de Brún is assistant professor in the School of  Language, Literacy and Early Childhood Education in Dublin City University. She was an Education Adviser in the Áisaonad in St. Mary’s University Belfast where she took part in the provision of resources for immersion schools. Jacqueline is a former primary school teacher in immersion schools and has taught a range of age-groups as well as a period responsible for literacy in a school.

Jacqueline is interested in reading in Irish and has published research on children’s books in Irish.
