Is léachtóir í Jacqueline de Brún i Scoil na Litearthachta agus an Oideachas Luath-Óige in Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath. Tá PhD aici ar theagasc agus fhoghlaim na léitheoireachta Gaeilge. Thosaigh Jacqueline a slí bheatha mar mhúinteoir Gaelscoile. Ba Chomhairleoir Oideachais í san Áisaonad i gColáiste Ollscoile Naomh Muire, Béal Feirste. Is ball í den Lárionad Taighde SEALBHÚ agus den ghrúpa taighde Litearthachta in OCBÁC, agus is ball coiste í de Chumann Litearthachta na hÉireann. Tá sí ar an Chiste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge do na meáin Ghaeilge. Tá sí aitheanta mar údar do pháistí ar Phortráidí na Scríbhneoirí Gaeilge. Bhí Jacqueline ina stiúrthóir ar an chlár léitheoireachta Cleite agus ina bainisteoir tionscadail ar dhearadh clár fónaice don Ghaeilge, Fónaic na Gaeilge agus Cód na Gaeilge. Tá dhá úrscéal foilsithe aici do léitheoirí óga chomh maith le leabhair a aistriú do pháistí. Bíonn ról scríbhneora agus comhairleora aici i soláthar clár teilifíse do pháistí.                            

Jacqueline de Brún is a lecturer in the School of Language, Literacy and Early Childhood Education in Dublin City University. She has a PhD in the teaching and learning of reading in Irish. Jacqueline began her career as a primary school teacher in Irish-medium schools. She was Education Adviser in the Áisaonad in St. Mary’s University, Belfast. She is a member of the research groups SEALBHÚ and The Centre for Literacy Research, Policy and Practice in DCU and is on the executive committee of the Literacy Association of Ireland. She is a committee member for the Irish Language Broadcasting Fund (ILBF). She is recognised as a children’s author in Portráidí na Scríbhneoirí Gaeilge. Jacqueline was supervisor for the publication of Cleite, a reading resources for readers in Irish, and was project manager for the production of phonics programmes for Irish, Fónaic na Gaeilge and Cód na Gaeilge. She has published two novels for young readers and has translated books for children. She writes scripts and provides educational advice in the production of television programmes in Irish for children.
