Student Finance

Remission of Fees Scheme offers financial relief to students who are repeating a year or part of a year due to medical reasons or pregnancy.


 

DCU offers a wide range of scholarships designed to support students from diverse backgrounds, including mature learners. Each year, over 4,000 students benefit from financial aid, accommodation supports, fee waivers, and merit-based awards.


 

DCU’s Financial Survival in University guide offers practical advice on budgeting, managing living costs, and accessing support services. It includes sample budgets, cost breakdowns for living at home or away, and tips on part-time work and grants.


This fund is for medical expenses, travel, utility bills and food for full and part-time students who experience financial difficulties during their studies. It is designed to assist students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds with ongoing financial costs and for all students in emergency situations. It cannot be used to pay course fees.


 

The Student Grant Scheme is the main financial support scheme for students studying in higher education courses. It provides both fee grants and maintenance grants. All SUSI grants are income assessed


 

This is a social welfare payment for people who want to study full-time and who are already receiving a social welfare payment. To qualify for this option, you must have been receiving a qualifying social welfare payment for at least 9 months.  To apply you must complete the BTEA paper application form. You should apply for BTEA before you start your course or within 30 days of the course commencing

Please contact your local or regional SVP office. SVP bursary awards are dependent on the availability of funds, so applying early and submitting all necessary information correctly can increase your chances of receiving support 


 

This funding is for first time entrants to a full or part-time undergraduate course whose reckonable household income is below a certain amount. The amount is linked to the income limit for the SUSI Special Rate grant. The bursary focuses on certain priority groups. Applications will open beginning in early semester one of the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year


 

To qualify for the scholarship programme applicants must be from an under-represented background and studying eligible courses in DCU
