CAO - Step 3
Register Online

Register Online

Before coming to DCU, you must register online for the modules on your course.

Online registration will take place from Wednesday 6th September to Friday 15th September, for incoming first year students.

Note: Students can register online as soon as they receive their welcome information (Step 2).

For guidance on the registration process, visit the Registration Information Page.

If you have a query in relation to online registration, please submit an online query.

CAO - Step 4
Orientation

Your orientation falls into two categories - general orientation and programme orientation.

General Orientation begins as soon as you log into the ‘My DCU-UG’ Hub on the Loop platform. ‘My DCU-UG’ contains ‘Discover’, your personalised orientation companion programme designed to help get you settled in and build the skills needed to succeed at University.

We recommend you do as much as you can on ‘My DCU’ prior to attending in-person events on campus. Earn experience points and a digital badge once complete.

Use your log-in details in your welcome information email from DCU as outlined in Step 2.

Our on-campus General Orientation gets underway on Monday 18th September.

Programme (course) orientation: Each course has their own specific orientation programme which allows new students to meet academic staff. This will get underway from Monday, September 18th, and will be on campus.

Schedules and information about orientation will be available on www.dcu.ie/orientation, where you will see  programme activities and fun events designed across the week to help you settle in. This page will be live at the start of September and updated regularly so keep checking back.

We recommend that students attend general orientation when they can as it gives you the opportunity to learn about life on campus, as well as the supports on offer for students.

Semester One: Teaching for new undergraduate students begins on Monday, September 25th.

What is Loop? Loop is DCU’s online learning learning platform, and allows students to access course content, their teachers and fellow students. It’s where students access their notes and participate in learning seminars.

Now that most of the serious work is done, you can start exploring all that DCU has to offer!
