
Congratulations on your DCU course offer!
We know that going to university is a big transition, so we have listed the steps you need to take from now until we welcome you in September.

Accept Your Offer
Round A offers will be issued by the CAO on 7th July. Please log onto your CAO account to accept your DCU offer by reply date of 13th July at www.cao.ie
Round O offers will be issued by the CAO on 5th August. Please log into your CAO account to accept your DCU offers by reply date of 10th August at www.cao.ie
Round 1 offers will be issued by the CAO on 8th September. Please log into your CAO account to accept your DCU offer by reply date of 14th September at www.cao.ie
International and Direct Applicants
You should accept your offer as outlined in your offer letter. International students and direct applicants have been provided with information in their offer letters on how to accept a place on their chosen course.

Welcome Information & My DCU
After an offer has been accepted, you will receive log-in details by email to access DCU systems and your DCU email account on the dates outlined below:
- Mature, QQI/FET, International and direct applicants will receive their welcome information email on 22nd August 2022.
- Round 1 CAO: You can accept your DCU offer any time between September 8th and September 14th, the CAO’s closing date for acceptance of offers. You will receive your email from DCU (with your log-in details to access DCU systems and email) from Monday 12 September 2022. Your can begin your orientation on My DCU after you receive your log-in details.
- International and direct applicants (who accepted after 15th August) will receive their welcome information email on Thursday 15th September. All other categories of acceptances should receive their information by late September.
These login details will also allow you to:
- Register for your course and pay your fees when registration opens (see Step 3)
- Access 'My DCU’ on the Loop platform, for your online orientation. ‘My DCU’ will outline your student journey over the coming year, and will include information about your on-campus general and programme orientation

Register Online
Before coming to DCU, you must register online for the modules on your course.
Registration will take place from Thursday, September 15th, to Friday, September 23rd, for incoming first year students.
Note: Students can register online as soon as they receive their welcome information.

Remember you can log on to ‘My DCU’ on the Loop platform when you receive your log-in details to access your personalised orientation information and a full overview of events on and off campus.

Orientation
General Orientation: This will be a mix of online and in-person events, organised by the university’s Student Support & Development, and DCU Students’ Union.
General Orientation begins as soon as you log into the ‘My DCU’ Hub on the Loop platform. ‘My DCU’ contains ‘Discover’, your personalised orientation and transition to university programme designed to help get you settled in and build the skills needed to succeed at University. This programme is full of fun, interactive activities online and live webinars from Wednesday, September 14th, and will remain accessible for week starting Monday 19th September.
You’ll also find out more about your Programme Orientation activities to come, and the type of supports and services we have for new students. We recommend you do as much as you can on ‘My DCU’ prior to attending in-person events on campus. Earn experience points and a digital badge for each stage completed.
Remember your log-in details are contained in your welcome information email from DCU. You receive this email within 24 hours after you accept your offer from DCU. You can accept your offer from DCU between September 8th and September 14th, which is the CAO’s closing date for acceptance of offers.
Our in-person events get underway on Monday, September 19th.
These events include campus tours, scavenger hung, Engage Award and other activities
DCU Students’ Union will also have a number of activities taking place.
You will be able to view the schedule on ‘My DCU’.
We recommend that students attend general orientation when they can as it gives you the opportunity to learn about life on campus, as well as the supports on offer for students.
Programme(course) orientation: Each course has their own specific orientation module which allows new students to meet academic staff. This will get underway from Monday, September 19th. This schedule will be available on ‘My DCU’
Programme Pages are located on your Loop Dashboard. You can use this shortcut which will bring you to a the master list of pages. Simply select your CAO course and you will be brought directly to your programme page. Select the calendar on the left hand menu to see events.
Semester One: Teaching for new undergraduate students begins on Monday, September 26th.
What is Loop? Loop is DCU’s online learning learning platform, and allows students to access course content, their teachers and fellow students. It’s where students access their notes and participate in learning seminars.
Now that most of the serious work is done, you can start exploring all that DCU has to offer!

Registration Queries
Registration will take place from Thursday 15th September to Friday 23rd September for incoming first year students.
Note: Students can register online as soon as they receive their welcome information
Once you have accepted your offer, you will receive your log-in details by email to register for your course. During the registration process, you will be able to pay your fees, choose your modules and gain access to your My DCU page where you can learn more about the ongoing activities in the university.

Fees Queries
Fees should be paid as part of the online registration process. At this point, you can either pay your full student contribution & student levy or pay 50% of the student contribution & student levy, and the balance of fees (remaining 50% of student contribution) should be paid before January 31st 2023.
If a third party is paying your fees, you need to ensure that you also register for your programme. They can call the DCU easypay number 01-2530219 to make the payment. They will need your student number and date of birth to hand.
If you are funded 100% by a SUSI grant, you are required to pay €43 together with your SUSI application number during the registration process.
If you are an EU applicant, 60% of total fee is required prior to registration, with 40% balance due by Friday 31st January 2023.
For non EU students, full fees are due to be paid prior to registration.

My DCU Orientation and Support Queries
You will be able to log in to ‘My DCU’ at Loop as soon as you receive your username and password from Registry.
Once in My DCU at Loop you will have access to your personalised orientation and schedule. Here you will learn more about DCU, the facilities, clubs and societies and lots more.
