Research Carried out / Ongoing
- Currently doing research for Ph.D. thesis at Trinity College Dublin on Entrepreneurship in the Gaeltacht.
- Currently doing research for Ph.D. thesis at Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III (France) on Irish government policy on the integration of refugees and asylum-seekers.
- Member of research project entitled Ville et Hospitalité (CNRS/Maison des Sciences de l'Homme), funded by France's Ministère de l'Equipement, des Transports et du Logement. This collaborative research project examines the integration of non-nationals and ethnic minorities in European cities.
- Currently doing research for MA in Creative Writing, Lancaster University.
- Currently doing research for Ph.D. thesis at NUI Maynooth on the influence of the Irish language on foreign language learning in Ireland.

Mac An Bhaird C- Study visit organised for students of MSc i nGnó agus i dTeicneolaíocht an Eolais, FIONTAR, to University of Wales, Aberystwyth, in co-operation with Welsh-medium MSc in Entrepreneurship. Trip financed under MENTOR(INTERREG II) scheme.

- Grant to travel to present paper at conference entitled 'Ville et Hospitalité: La commune et ses minorités', organised by the CNRS/Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, Pessac (France), 5-6 April 2001. Grant funded by Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, Paris.
- Attended course on implementation of innovative teaching methodologies. Award granted by Teaching and Learning Committee, DCU, to fund three-week visit to Germany in July 2001.
