Maximum number of modules you can register for in one academic year is four. 

There are a limited number of possible module combinations. The programme has two elective pathways whereby students may choose to study three Sociology modules OR three Philosophy modules along with the nine Psychology modules. The choice between Sociology or Philosophy must be made in a student’s first year of study.  

  • You should only register for an intermediate module in Psychology if you have successfully passed PSY1080: What is Psychology? and PSY1081: Exploring Psychological Research
  • You should only register for an intermediate module in Sociology or Philosophy if you have successfully passed SOC1001: What is Sociology? module or PHE1005: What is Philosophy?
  • Students are also advised that PSY1088: Advanced Research Methods and Project should be taken in combination with as few other modules as possible.
  • Specifically, it is advised that you have completed PSY1086: Individual Differences before attempting PSY1088: Advanced Research Methods and Project AND you must have successfully completed PSY1084: Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods.
  • PHE1005 What is Philosophy? must be completed before you take any other philosophy module
  • In order to register for PSY1088 Advanced Research Methods and Project you must have successfully completed PSY1084 Quantitative & Qualitative Research Methods
  • PSY1088 Advanced Research Methods and Project must be taken in a student’s final year of registration on the programme i.e. at least eight modules (120 credits) completed with all remaining modules being taken such that 12 modules (180 credits) will be completed if all modules are successfully completed in that year.
  • Students are advised to complete PSY1084 Quantitative & Qualitative Research in Psychology before taking PSY1086 Individual Differences
  • Students are also advised that PSY1088 Advanced Research Methods and Project should be taken in combination with as few other modules as possible.
  • Specifically, it is advised that you have completed PSY1086 Individual Differences before attempting PSY1088 Advanced Research Methods and Project.
