Applicants with Disabilities
Applicants with disabilities who believe that they cannot demonstrate their full academic ability through exam performance are afforded the opportunity to do this as part of the application process. Such applicants will not compete directly with other applicants but will be considered separately on the basis of medical evidence supporting their application.
The University's Disability Officer, assesses all medical evidence. Intending applicants are welcome to contact the Disability Office further information on which can be obtained by clicking here.
There is no difference in the procedure for making an application or in the closing dates for applicants with disabilities.
Candidates who apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) and who indicate on page 1 of the CAO application form that they have a disability or specific learning difficulty will be sent a request for further information by the CAO after they have submitted their application form.
Candidates who apply directly to the University and indicate on the application form that they have a disability or specific learning difficulty will be asked to provide further information after submitting their application to DCU. Applicants who do not wish to be considered under this access scheme can choose not to submit the details required. Such applications will be assessed in competition with all other candidates.
