DEROGATIONS IBL
Project contribution to Year 4 from Year 3: 200 marks
Year 2 students may carry one module into Year 3 (the year abroad), provided the module does not include the language of their year abroad. This module must be passed before the student progresses to Year 4.
Exceptionally, a student may be allowed to carry more than one module.
Again, the carried module must be passed before the student enters Year 4.
Compensation:
Year 1: Language modules are non-compensatable. Students must pass both the oral and written elements of the module.
Year 2: Language modules are non-compensatable. Students must pass both the oral and written elements of the module.
Year 4: All modules are compensatable, at the discretion of the PAB.

Compensation applies as per University Marks and Standards, as follows:
Depending on the total credits associated with the examination module(s) being considered for compensation, the marks obtained in each of these module(s) must not be lower than the following thresholds, where the pass standard is 40%:
Up to 5 credits 25%
Up to 10 credits 30%
Up to 15 credits 35%
