Semester Two/ February Registration 2008

Students registering in February 2008 include those whose courses do not commence until Semester Two and students who need to register for Deferred/Repeat modules in Semester Two.

New Students

You will be contacted by the University by letter with registration information.

Semester Two Online Registration - New PAC Applicants Only

The following programmes (new PAC applicants only) will register online for Semester 2 from Monday 28th January - Monday 4th February.

  • GDCL - Graduate Diploma in Comparative Literature
  • GDALIS - Graduate Diploma in Applied Languages & Intercultural Studies
  • GCES - Graduate Certificate in Electronic Systems
  • GDE - Graduate Diploma in Electronic Systems
  • MEN - MEng in Electronic Systems
  • GCTC - Graduate Certificate in Telecommunications Engineering
  • GTC - Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering
  • MTC - MEng in Telecommunications Engineering
  • CAMA - Access - Computer Aided Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • CAMG - Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • CAMM - MEng in Computer Aided Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • EMBIN - European M.Sc. in Business Informatics
  • GCCI - Graduate Certificate in Community Interpreting

Semester Two Card Collection Timetable - New PAC Applicants Only

Your Student ID card can be collected at the Information Point, The Registry, Ground Floor, Henry Grattan Building during the first week of term from Monday 4th February to Friday 8th February 2008.

Please note The Registry Information Point is open Monday to Friday from 09.30 -12.30 and 14:00 – 17:00. A map of the campus is available on our website to help you locate the building.

Please bring the following items with you to ensure you will get your ID card:

  • Original copies of transcripts of results and confirmation of award (PAC applicants only)
  • Original copies of proof of competency in English i.e. TOEFL, IELTS results.  (Applies to all applicants who are non-native speakers of the English language.  Further details available at: http://www.dcu.ie/registry/english.shtml )
  • Proof of payment of fees - giro receipt or online receipt
  • Original birth certificate (long or short version) or a valid passport
  • Letter from your Higher Education Grant Authority (if you are receiving a Grant)
  • If you are in receipt of external funding, please bring a letter of confirmation to support your claim.

Semester Two Card Collection Timetable - All Other Programmes

The following students can collect their student cards from the Information Point, The Registry, Ground Floor, Henry Grattan Building at the following times:

Semester Two Registration - Deferred and Repeat Students

Students who have Deferred modules and Repeat students should register between Monday 28th January - Monday 4th February 2008.

Deferred and Repeat students should complete an R34 form (PDF application to register as a Repeat Student/Application to register for Deferred Modules). This form needs to be completed and emailed to the Chairperson of the Programme for approval. The Chairperson will send you an email confirming/decling your application to repeat. This is your confirmation.

You must then bring (a) this form and (b) the email from your Chairperson to the DCU fees office in advance of Registration. The Fees Office will inform you of your fee liability. Once the fees are paid, the Registry will process your registration and contact you to confirm when your ID card is ready for collection.

Late Registration - All Students

Students who fail to register by Monday 4th February 2008 will be liable for the late registration fee of €125. No student may register after Friday 22nd February 2008.

Registration Confirmation - students who do not register online

After registration you will receive a confirmation printout of your Student Enrolment. This printout will have your DCU computer username and password, allowing access to all information on your student portal page, including your examination results. Please retain this Enrolment Confirmation Printout for reference. The printout also contains your email address. The University will use this email address to contact you so check it regularly.
