IRC Early Career Researcher of the Year Award

Congratulations to Dr Edoardo Celeste on receiving the IRC early career researcher of the year award. Dr Celeste is an Assistant Professor of Law, Technology and Innovation in the School of Law and Government.

The award is in recognition of Edoardo's exceptional achievement in his field of research at this early stage in his career. We look forward to hearing more about Dr Celeste’s achievements.

 

 

COALESCE Awards 2021

Dr Susan Hegarty, School of History and Geography, was successful in her COALESCE application under strand 2A. Dr Hegarty will be working with Prof. Fiona Regan on the project Urban Citizen’s 632: Citizen stewardship of surface water bodies for SDG 6.3.2. We look forward to hearing about the results of this exciting project.

 

 

 SMART-ER Seed Programme

Congratulations to DCU researchers who have been awarded funding in the SMART-ER Seed Programme to develop research networks, supporting collaborations between ECIU University member institutions on topics contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 ‘Sustainable cities and communities’. The awardees are:

Dr Volkan Yilmaz, School of Law and Government, who is coordinating the award ‘Reversing Inequalities and Promoting Solidarity in Health at the European Level: Towards a Research Network on the European Health Union’ with partners in Tampere University (Finland), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and the University of Aveiro (Portugal).

Dr Marcos Dias, School of Communications, who is a partner on the award ‘Digital Media Network Doctoral Experience’ with researchers in Linköping University  (Sweden), University of Trento (Italy), Łódź University of Technology (Poland) and led by the University of Aveiro (Portugal).

2023 Fellow of the GLD, University of Gothenburg

Congratulations to Dr Valesca Lima, School of Law & Government, who has been named a 2023 Fellow of the Governance and Local Development Institute (GLD) at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.

The GLD is a prestigious research center dedicated to international collaboration and policy-relevant research in an effort to promote human welfare globally. Dr Lima will contribute to this leading research center in her fields of expertise: citizen participation, policymaking and housing governance. As a GLD Fellow, in 2023 Dr Lima will be invited to participate in the GLD annual events, such as conferences, workshop series, and public lectures.
