The European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) manages, on behalf of the European Commission, funding streams for projects in education, training, youth, sport, audiovisual, culture, citizenship, and humanitarian aid. Funding is directed towards innovation and international cooperation, through several different programmes including Erasmus+; Creative Europe; and Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme (CERV).
With Calls open, and application deadlines approaching, the EACEA has scheduled 5 info-sessions in late January and early February. These are good opportunities to get an in-depth understanding of these Calls, whether for application this year, or for planning ahead for 2024.

There has been a lot of discussion and media coverage in the last two weeks regarding Chat GPT and other AI text generators. While much of the current focus relates to the impact on student assessment, there are also concerns around AI generated research abstracts.
The National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN) welcome all interested colleagues to join their first webinar of 2023, which is focusing on the very topical issue of academic integrity and artificial intelligence.

The Cystic Fibrosis Registry of Ireland, in association with Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI), wish to invite you to an event on The Future of Patient Registries in Ireland.
This in-person event will bring together stakeholders in the patient/disease registry space in Ireland to network, share learning about operating a registry in the Irish context and to discuss the sustainability of registries as a whole.
Through presentations, Q&A and a panel discussion, this half-day event will give participants insights into:
- The operations of registries at different stages of development
- The Irish policy context: the Health Information Bill and health information standards
It will also consider and seek audience input on the sustainability & value of registries in the long-term.

This event is targeted at those preparing Erasmus+ KA2 Cooperation Partnerships applications in the fields of Adult Education, Vocational Training, School Education and Youth for the 22nd March 2023 deadline.
The workshop will focus on KA2 Cooperation Partnerships and specifically the new format of lump sum funding.
Topics will include
- Understanding the key aspects of a Cooperation Partnership
- Award Criteria used in assessing applications and how to address them
- How to prepare your application according to the Work Package and Lump sum funding format.

Wellcome’s Discovery Research team are hosting a series of engagement events across the UK and Ireland over the coming months. The visit for the research community from across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland will take place on 4th April at Queen’s University Belfast. Further details, including the link to register to attend, is provided below. For anyone considering applying to Wellcome this year or next year, this will be a really useful opportunity to discover how they are operating following the recent changes to their strategy and calls, determine if these opportunities could be relevant for you and how best to improve your chances should you apply.

The in-person events are open to researchers based in the UK and Republic of Ireland at all career stages as well as research support staff. Please register below for your preferred location. Please note attendance to the in-person events is free and lunch/refreshments will be provided; however, places are limited and on a first come, first served basis.
