Biography

Sarah is an Associate Professor in Exercise and Health Psychology in the School of Health and Human Performance at Dublin City University. Sarah’s general area of research is the application of motivational theories and interventions to understand health behaviour change, particularly in relation to physical activity and diet. In particular she is interested in the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions within health care settings. Her primary research interests are in identifying the psychological factors linked to physical activity and developing pragmatic and scalable interventions to promote health behavior change. In particular, the promotion of physical activity to prevent or manage chronic illness and conditions. She is currently leading a program of research in physical activity and cancer survivorship, including clinical trials to increase physical activity, reduce sedentary behaviour and improve health outcomes.
