Academic Lead in Nursing

As Academic Lead in Nursing, I work with staff within the Nursing Group, the Head of School and the School Executive, to prepare a strategic vision and to develop the academic discipline(s), including education, research, and professional practice. My role also includes contributing to the leadership and management/administration of the School and leadership activities at Faculty and University level.
 
I teach across undergraduate and post-graduate nursing programmes. My most recent work is centred around international curricula with projects such as 'eCoNNECT: enhanced Communication iN Nursing through Exchange of Clinical Teaching experiences' and 'TANAHE: Teaching and Assessing for Nurses and Allied Health Educators', both of which have been developed together with EU/global partners. I have developed expertise in using online / blended learning formats, and in developing multilingual study materials, producing creative media and interactive videos, and in recorded assessments to provide individualised and detailed feedback to students.  

My research interests include nurse education, clinical decision making and advanced nursing practice / advanced practice nursing. My extensive involvements in conferences, publications and projects have led to recognition and leadership positions at prestigious discipline-specific bodies including International Council of Nurses (ICN) APN / NP Network (Deputy-Chair) and European Society of Cardiology (Fellow).
