Dr. Tanya Levingstone was awarded a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering from Dublin City University in 2003. She then undertook her PhD in the area of bioceramic coatings in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the National Centre for Plasma Science and Technology (NCPST) in DCU. In 2008, she joined the Tissue Engineering Research Group in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where she led the cartilage tissue engineering faction of the group. Dr. Levingstone returned to DCU to join the academic staff in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 2016 where she leads a translational research group focused on the development of novel biomaterials based approaches for bone and cartilage repair.
