Is céimí é de chuid Choláiste na Tríonóide (PhD agus MPhil), an Coláiste Ollscoile, Baile Átha Cliath (ATO) agus Ollscoil Nua-Eabhrac (BA).

Tá a chuid taighde dírithe ar ghnéithe éagsúla den tsícitheangeolaíocht agus den tsochtheangeolaíocht; inspreagadh, feasacht chultúrtha, eolas meititheangeolaíochta agus dearcadh i leith mhúnlaí éagsúla na sprioctheanga, ina measc. Dr Colin Flynn (Cóilín Ó Floinn) is an applied linguist with a particular interest in bilingualism in adults and children, and in instructed second language acquisition as an avenue to bilingual competence. He holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin (PhD and MPhil), University College Dublin (HDipEd) and New York University (BA). 

Dr Flynn's research is focused on various aspects of psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics, such as motivation, cultural awareness, metalinguistic knowledge and attitudes towards (target) language varieties. He is also interested in exploring relationships between language learner psychology, language teaching methods and learning contexts.

He is available to supervise research students and would be happy to meet with anyone who is interested in conducting doctoral research in the above-mentioned areas.
