Dr. Sandeep Rao is an Associate Professor of Finance at DCU Business School and is currently the Programme Chair of MSc Finance. He holds a PhD in Accounting & Finance from the triple-accredited University of Strathclyde with the UK Commonwealth Scholarship. He has MSc in International Securities and Investment Banking from the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, UK, and an MBA from Visveswaraiah Technological University, India. Dr. Rao teaches Corporate Finance and Sustainable Finance at the DCU Business School and is a regular invited lecturer at various top B-Schools, such as KEDGE (France), University of Birmingham (UK-Singapore), and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (PES-IUP, India), among others.

He researches in the area of Corporate Finance, Sustainable Finance, and Climate Change. He has published in the top ABS-ranked journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, The British Journal of Management, Annals of Operations Research, Economics Letters, Energy Economics, and Research in International Business and Finance. He also reviews articles for top-tier ABDC-ranked journals. Additionally, he is the Associate Editor of ABS-ranked journals: the Review of Accounting and Finance, Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investments, and Journal of Risk Finance. Other than being a member of several international research centres that include the Sustainable Financial Innovation Centre (SFiC, UK), The Centre for Research on Economic Relations (CER, Sweden), the DCU Climate & Society, the National Centre for Family Business (NFCB), Anti-corruption Research Centre and the Ireland India Institute at DCU, Dr Rao is also a member of the American Finance Association (AFA), Financial Management Association (FMA) and The Indian Econometric Society (TIES).

Before entering a full-time academic career, Dr Rao was the founder and CEO of two technology companies in India. Under his leadership, the companies provided several IT solutions, including PLM, ERP, fuel management systems and RFID technology integration into social media branding. He was also an award-winning market analyst at Thomson Reuters in the mergers and acquisitions department and was a sub-broker of the stock broking firm Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd in India.
