Biography Dr Reihaneh Aghamolaei joined Dublin City University (DCU) in 2021 as an Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. She previously held lecturing roles at University College Dublin and Griffith College Dublin, specialising in building energy performance analysis, building physics, and energy optimisation. She also worked as a sustainability engineer in Ireland’s AEC industry, focusing on sustainable building design and the assessment of energy performance and carbon emissions for residential and commercial developments.
Research Expertise
Dr Aghamolaei’s research centres on data-driven energy modelling, techno-economic energy optimisation, and renewable energy integration through novel and holistic modelling techniques. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed works, including journal papers and book chapters, in areas such as building energy performance modelling, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and optimisation.
She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Advances in Building Energy Research and has collaborated extensively in multidisciplinary projects with academic and non-academic partners, including the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), University College Dublin, Maynooth University, and the University of Galway. Her current research group includes PhD students and research assistants developing innovative, data-driven, and sustainable solutions for the eneegy systems in the built environment.
