Marco Viola is Assistant Professor in Mathematics at DCU. He got a MSc in Mathematics from University of Naples Federico II and a PhD in Operations Research from Sapienza University of Rome.
He held positions as Post-doctoral Researcher and then Assistant Professor at the University of Campania "L. Vanvitelli" until January 2023. From January 2023 to August 2024 he was Assistant Professor in Applied and Computational Mathematics at University College Dublin, before moving to Dublin City University in September 2024.

Current research is mainly focused on the development of nonlinear optimization methods with applications to the solution of problems arising from Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Image Processing applications.
