First Aid Training

The DCU Health and Safety Office is responsible for ensuring that an adequate number of staff are trained in first aid across all campuses. To support this, we regularly organise PHECC First Aid Responder (FAR) training, which is the recognised standard for occupational first aid in Irish workplaces.

This comprehensive three-day course equips participants with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence required to provide effective first aid in the event of injury or sudden illness. On successful completion of the course, First Aid Responders will be able to deliver life support, assess and treat injuries and illnesses, and provide appropriate care and reassurance until emergency medical services arrive.

Course Duration: Three full days, followed by a two-day refresher course every two years to maintain certification.

To register your interest in participating in this training, please contact the Health & Safety Office at safety@dcu.ie.
