The Centre for Engaged Research, has the pleasure of inviting you to a new edition of DCU Centre for Engaged Research Lecture Series 2022.

The next lecture in this series is entitled 

Community outreach and systems change research for access to education for socio-economically marginalised groups in Ireland and Europe

by Prof. Paul Downes and Dr. Siobhan O'Reilly 

Prof. Paul Downes is Professor of Psychology of Education, and Director of the Educational Disadvantage Centre, Institute of Education (DCU), and Affiliate Professor of the Centre for Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health, University of Malta.

Siobhan O'Reilly is lecturing the Equality, Access and Inclusion module on the BSc in Education and Training and is a postdoctoral researcher at DCU’s Anti Bullying Centre on the BeFore project Anti-Bullying Education for Sports Coaches.

The lecture will discuss the processes of engagement of stakeholders at local community level for the establishment of Familiscope Ballyfermot community based multidisciplinary team, and at policy levels across Europe for an access to education.
