DCU Employee Assistance Service (EAS)
The DCU Employee Assistance Service (EAS) provides employees with easy access to a wide variety of mental health, as well as practical services to help them through a range of personal or work related issues. It is a confidential service provided by Spectrum Life on behalf of the University.
The service is designed to support employees and their immediate family members (18+) to resolve personal or work-related concerns. This service is available to all DCU staff and campus company staff.
You can access the EAS through the 24/7 freephone number 365 days a year on 1800 814 243, or by texting (SMS) sending ‘Hi’ to 087 145 2056 or WhatsApp by sending ‘Hi’ to 087 3690010. To use Live Chat, please sign in using log-in details for the Wellbeing Portal below. You can also email eap@spectrum.life with your name and number to request a call back(*).

The EAS provides you with immediate access to ‘In the Moment’ support for your mental wellbeing with a wide variety of problems. The service provides access to a fully qualified team of counsellors and experts who are highly experienced in personal and work-related issues and can support anyone suffering with issues including but not limited to:
· Depression, anxiety, stress
· Grief and bereavement
· Addictions
· Relationship and marital problems
· Work stress and work-life balance issues
· Workplace conflict and communication
· Life transitions such as career progression or retirement
To complement the existing supports available, the service now provides support, guidance and advice for any stress, anxiety or worry you are experiencing as a result of a more practical non-clinical based issue that you may be facing including the following:
- Financial
- legal
- mediation
- career guidance
- life/parent coaching
- dietitian
- nutritionist
- physiotherapist.
NOTE: Under the enhanced service, employees can avail of a 30 minute phone consultation per issue/ matter with a relevant Expert Service Provider on each of these issues in a 12 month period. The relevant expert will provide support and/or signpost you to any other relevant external services that may be required.
Timeframe: Monday to Friday 9-5 pm & offer a phone consultation within 5 business days.
(*) Your first interaction with the service will be through the English Language but for further sessions counsellors who speak your first language (incl. Irish) can be sourced. However, it may mean meeting your counsellor remotely rather than face to face depending on geographical location of staff member and counsellor
