Session 2 of 3: Futures Thinking - Forecasting

Is it possible to predict the future? How accurate can forecasting be?

In this second session, we dive into the skills and tools used by Futurists to forecast the future. We consider how to gather and interpret signals, identify drivers of change and practise techniques for thinking analytically and creatively about the future.

Lean how to make a quick Forecast on any topic and how to start creating scenarios to bring the future you imagine to the present time, promoting engagement and collaboration.

At this end of this workshop, you will:

  • Source and analyse signals and drivers of change
  • Use signals to create forecasts on any topic
  • Recognise how to use forecasting tools to build future scenarios
  • Be able to play with future scenarios and possibilities

These run as single workshops but you can also sign up for the other two in the series:

Session 1: Futures Thinking - Foundations

Session 3: Futures Thinking - Simulation
