DCU INTRA Student Awards

About the Awards

Each year, DCU students from 52 degree programmes in our 4 Faculties take part in work placements that transform their academic journey into real-world impact. 

This year we are delighted to launch our INTRA Student Work Placement Awards to celebrate outstanding DCU student contributions in the workplace.

We are inviting you to nominate an INTRA student who made a big impact during their time with your organisation. Your nomination will be a powerful gesture that celebrates excellence and inspires the next generation of INTRA placement students.

Any DCU INTRA student who finished, or is due to finish, their placement in 2025 is eligible for nomination.

One winner from each of the following DCU Faculties will be announced:

• Faculty of Science & Health
• Faculty of Engineering & Computing
• Business School
• Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences

Winners will be selected by a university judging panel and announced at an Awards Ceremony in January 2026. These students will become ambassadors for excellence in INTRA placement performance and will be role models for future cohorts.

Who should I nominate?

We’re looking for exceptional students who stood out among your placement cohort. Please consider nominating a student who made a big impact during their INTRA placement.  Elements of exceptional impact might include:

• Demonstrated exceptional performance and commitment.
• Was a team player, contributing positively to workplace culture.
• Showed creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Displayed the qualities of a future leader.
• A student whose attitude, drive, and contribution exceeded expectations.

What is the Nomination Process?

Nominations will open in September 2025. We would be really grateful if you could take a few minutes to niminate a student. It could be life changing for them. 

The process is as follows:

1. Complete the short online nomination form which opens on September 1^st 2025 which includes a brief 200-word statement explaining why your nominated student deserves an INTRA Student Award.

2. Please do not inform your nominated student at this stage to avoid disappointment if they are not selected.
