We are delighted to offer a collaborative PhD summer School which is delivered by the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, Dublin City University and the School of Nursing, Duquesne University (Pennsylvania).

The summer school will be hosted in Dublin City University and is targeted at early-stage PhD students, particularly those using qualitative methodologies.

Topics covered in the summer school include:

  • Approaches to presenting and synthesising literature.
  • Choosing and identifying your research question.
  • Approaches within common qualitative methodologies (including analysis).
  • A review of issues related to quantitative methodologies.
  • Managing the PhD journey.
  • Navigating ethics, reflexivity, and rigour.
  • Opportunity to present your PhD work and obtain critical feedback.
