Biographical Details

As an Assistant Professor Denise lectures primarily on the mental health nursing pathway here in the school. She has many years experience lecturing across a variety of nursing topics including  assessment in mental health nursing , health and marginalisation and primary care and mental health.She developed and now runs a undergraduate nursing module titled Sexuality and Sexual health for nursing practice. 

Her research interests include narrative research, life with HIV,sexual health promotion in nursing  and marginalisation and health. Her doctorate research ( University of Bath) was a narrative study with mothers living with HIV. Her particular interest in gender and HIV continues in her post-doc research endeavours. During 2019 she is leading a community inquiry project about the impact of Dual Diagnosis.
