The From Passion to Action Project

About the From Passion to Action Project

From Passion to Action is an initiative funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education's SATLE 2020 Fund.

From Passion to Action aims to foster and embed social innovation and entrepreneurship among staff and students in DCU across disciplines. It acts as an accessible entry point for social innovation and entrepreneurship education, and provides staff and students with relevant and user-friendly content and tools to get them thinking about social innovation, social entrepreneurship, social enterprise and social impact.

From Passion to Action resources include:

  • Best Practice Examples of social enterprises in Ireland and beyond. We provide comprehensive lists of cross-disciplinary social enterprises that are relevant to each of the faculties and disciplines at DCU.
  • A variety of Tools & Techniques for educators to use in their teaching.
  • An overview of the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem across DCU, Ireland, Europe and worldwide. These ecosystems include support organisations and funders, research networks, and competitions all focused on social innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • A series of Videos & Podcasts featuring academics and educators, social entrepreneurs, and social enterprise policy experts

The project ultimately aims to encourage educators to give their students the opportunity to take a certain issue that they're passionate about, whether that issue may be at a local or global level, and take action on it!
