DCU 2012 Daniel O'Hare Research Scholarship scheme - pre-call announcement:
The 2012 Daniel O'Hare Research Scholarship scheme will open on Thursday March 1st, with the closing date for receipt of applications on Thursday 12th April. Four postgraduate research scholarships will be awarded in 2012, one each in the Faculty of Science & Health, Faculty of Engineering & Computing, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, and DCU Business School. Each scholarship will be three years in duration, and eligible applicants must register as full-time, first-year, DCU postgraduate research students between April 1st - December 31st 2012. Project proposals should be agreed with a DCU supervisor*** in advance of the application and should focus on one of three themes: sustainability, innovation or internationalisation. Full details will be published on our website when the call opens on Thursday March 1st.

Universities Ireland North-South PG Scholarship scheme - now open:
Universities Ireland, which promotes collaboration between universities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), are offering five scholarships to students undertaking a recognised Master’s or the first year of a PhD programme (taught or research) in the other Irish jurisdiction. These scholarships are worth €15,000 each. This year three of the scholarships will be in the areas of energy and engineering, and two will be in another area – arts, business, science and social science. These scholarships must be taken up for the academic year 2012-2013.

Ireland Canada University Foundation Dobbin Travel Scholarship scheme - now open:
The Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) has just announced its 2012 Dobbin Scholarship scheme which offers funding for 'scholarly exchange' between universities in Ireland & Canada. The awards are designed principally for those currently engaged in graduate-level research in a discipline which is, or has potential to be, related to both Ireland and Canada, or who are commencing such research. The scholarships are for short visits which are to benefit the scholar’s research, to establish new academic contacts in the other country, and which will provide the opportunity for the development of ongoing links in that research area. All academic disciplines are eligible.
