President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins will deliver the keynote speech at the DCU Centre for Climate and Society inaugural conference on DCU St Patrick’s Campus on Thursday 5th May.

The one-day event will also feature a range of speakers from business, the media, policy-making, and academia. The three conference panels will address:

  • How the media can respond to the climate challenge
  • Climate policy-making in a turbulent world
  • What corporate climate leadership looks like

Established last year with support from founding partner Deloitte, the DCU Centre for Climate and Society is Ireland’s first academic research centre devoted to bringing perspectives from the social sciences and humanities to the climate crisis.

You can see the full programme here.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
