Developing Creativity at Francis Street School
To foster the pillar of Creativity, Francis Street School initiated an action research project aimed at cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets and Design Thinking within the school community. Throughout the year, the school collaborated with a renowned academic expert to design, iterate, and implement a series of collaborative workshops centred on entrepreneurial principles.
Focusing on 5th class students, the Design Thinking process was brought to life as a five-step approach to creatively address real-world societal challenges within their local community. This hands-on experience allowed students to engage deeply with problem-solving techniques, encouraging innovative thinking and practical solutions.
The project culminated in a significant event where 5th class students presented their projects to an audience of parents, community activists, stakeholders, and leading academics. This event showcased the students' creative solutions and highlighted the transformative impact of integrating Design Thinking and entrepreneurial mindsets into the educational experience.
