Transforming Professional Learning in the Engineering and Computing Landscape

A collection of short-form learning opportunities have been launched by DCU’s Faculty of Engineering and Computing on the national microcreds.ie platform. Aimed specifically at professionals, these short, flexible and targeted courses known as micro-credentials are targeted at those seeking to upskill and hone their skills and knowledge by taking a deeper dive into the ever changing world of Engineering, Computing and ICT. Launching the portfolio, Executive Dean Dr. Jennifer Bruton said:

Our objective in delivering micro-credentials is to enable transformation and to
have a significant impact on those who take them. We are aiming to increase
employability opportunities but also to provide meaningful real-world learning
experiences which align with industry needs. Our portfolio of micro-credentials
leverages our long-standing tradition in the Faculty of professional learning
and career development which is enhanced and informed by our deep links
with industry.

Micro-credentials are available in a range of areas from Blockchain Scalability to Data Analysis and Machine Learning, and Advanced Manufacturing to Product Design. They will be delivered by leading academics in their fields. All have been developed and designed to meet the needs of professionals and to target areas of crucial skills needs and gaps. Details regarding the micro-credentials are available at the Engineering and Computing website here: https://www.dcu.ie/FEC-microcredentials or by clicking here.
