DCU launches new MSc in Natural Language Processing

New masters, led by Professor Anya Belz, is first of its kind in Ireland

DCU has launched a new MSc in Natural Language Processing (NLP), the first master's degree of its kind in Ireland. Developed by world-class academics, and led by Professor Anya Belz, Professor of NLP, this full-time master's degree will be delivered on-campus by the School of Computing in DCU's Faculty of Engineering and Computing.

The aim of this new MSc in Natural Language Processing is to teach students to develop computer programmes that have the ability to understand and produce text, such as #ChatGPT, #LaMDA and #BARD. An expert panel of industry NLP professionals will deliver a series of guest lectures and engage in practicum supervision throughout this new master's. 

The NLP field has the potential to transform the way we interact with machines and with each other, and to make our lives easier and more efficient. The field is growing rapidly, and the new MSc in Natural Language Processing is designed to equip students with the skills they will need to thrive in a fast-growing field.
