EQI hosted colleagues from Turkey, Bulgaria, The Netherlands and Portugal at a week long workshop examining the nature and application of polycentric evaluation. Drawing on the work undertaken in the Polycentric Inspection of Networks of Schools (PINS) Erasmus + project this meeting explored ways of transferring the insights generated in this project to a Turkish educational setting. The meeting saw inputs from the Dean of the DCU Institute of Education, Prof Anne Looney,  Karina Holton of Inspectorate of the Department of Education, Ireland,  John Murray of the Education and Training Inspectorate, NI, EQI members Dr Paddy Shevlin, Dr Martin Brown,Dr Shivaun O’ Brien and Prof Joe O’Hara as well as presentations from our Dutch and Turkish colleagues.  One of the highlights of the week was the visit to the school community in Scoil Fhursa where the group had a chance to meet with the staff and students and to explore the realities of school evaluation in Ireland.
